K so birthday coming up soon and well hearing all this brawl talk is making me wanna play brawl once again so should i get a wii? or should i just wait for the acclaimed wii-u which will release this holiday season?

personally your choice but the Wii U still has a bit of time before release so might as well play brawl?

If I suddenly lost my Brawl and Wii, I would wait for the Wii U instead of buying a new Wii console and Brawl disk.

I will be honest, I've had a great time with the Wii, but it's life in the gaming world is basically over. D:

ohh yeah it's like a 150 dollars now and it's hackable so textures+music=awesome brawl

I'd rather wait for the Wii U. As much as it would be nice to get brawl and play with everyone, the new console would be coming out soon after and then when the new brawl is out everyone will play that and your money will be wasted.

However, I do understand its not fun to wait. If you have the money and are positive you'll be able to use the Wii in the future you should go ahead and buy it. It is your choice afterall.

But the future profit of buying a new console for the new brawl and for future games. Once there is an updated version of a console, the production of games for the old version usually stops.

but the new brawl wont be out till like 2 to 3 years after the wii u comes out

If the Wii-U is going to be like the 3DS and you like Gamecube games then get a Wii. Wii-U will most likely not be backwards compatible past the Wii.

i think it will still play wii games but there is nun tht has to do with gamecube in it

well, nintendo is always known for being backwards compatible one generation no matter how much effort it takes! (anyone remember the GBA player for the GC?)

DS plays GBA - and the weird cross over with the GBA player
3DS plays DS
wii plays GC
and wii-u HAS to play wii
it supports wii motes...come to think of it....if it allows u to play wii games, and since there are games that use the GC controler for the wii games (brawl, mario kart) maybe it just might support GC games o. o or maybe they'll just make GC controler attachments xD

I don't know that they will have the wiiu work with the gc stuff, I never got a black wii but I know at least some of them dont support gc games, plus they dont even make gc games anymore (that know of)

Anyway with that being said, waiting for the wiiu would probably be best bet unless you really want that gc support
