well you dont necessarily have to make backgrounds. for our brawler sigs, i took the original render and smudged it with cool settings. then i sharpened and did some filters on it.

for the sig tutorial thing, i took a stock which means i took a picture like of the galaxy, and messed uparound with it, then put it as my background.

a stock is like any picture.
